I have over 24 years experience in working with children in a range of settings and am the Manager of the Pre-School, having joined the setting in 2010. I hold a Level 5 qualification in Early Years as well as a Level 3 Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator qualification. In addition to my Manager role, I am also the named Special Educational Needs and Disability Co-ordinator (SENDCO)
I support a small number of children as their Key Person, helping them to settle in and getting to know them and their families. As well as supporting their time at Pre-School, undertaking assessment and planning to meet their learning and interest needs.

    Gemma

I have recently joined the Pre-School as a member of staff, having undertaken a placement as part of my Early Years Initial Teacher Training. I hold a Level 7 qualification with Early Years Teacher Status. I particularly enjoy supporting children’s creative learning inspired by my Arts Degree.
I support a small number of children as their Key Person, helping them to settle in and getting to know them and their families. As well as supporting their time at Pre-School, undertaking assessment and planning to meet their learning and interest needs.

    Gloria

I have been involved with the Pre-School for over 20 years and am also an active member of St Jude’s Church. I hold a level 3 qualification in Early Years.
I support a small number of children as their Key Person, helping them to settle in and getting to know them and their families. As well as supporting their time at Pre-School, undertaking assessment and planning to meet their learning and interest needs.

    Chantelle

I joined the Pre-School as an employee in 2019, having previously been on placement as a students for two years. I hold a Level 3 qualification in Early Years. My role includes planning activities for our younger children within their small group sessions each day.
I support a small number of children as their Key Person, helping them to settle in and getting to know them and their families. As well as supporting their time at Pre-School, undertaking assessment and planning to meet their learning and interest needs.

    Sally

I have been involved with the Pre-School for over 15 years, during which time I have gained my Level 4 qualification in Early Years. I previously provided the lead role for planning and provision for our two year old children, but now undertake the role of Assistant Manager, as well as supporting the important work of providing provision for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities as the Deputy SENDCO.
In addition, I am the lead coordinator for our fun tooth brushing club, which is an initiative supported by the NHS to promote good dental hygiene. I also co-ordinate the Pre-School provision for snack and refreshments, in line with guidance provided by Public Health England.

    Debbie

I have worked at the Pre-School for over 21 years. I have a Level 3 qualification through a Diploma in Pre-School Practice. In addition, I am a member of the St Jude’s Church and support the wider children’s work of the Church.
I support a small number of children as their Key Person, helping them to settle in and getting to know them and their families. As well as supporting their time at Pre-School, undertaking assessment and planning to meet their learning and interest needs.
I also co-ordinate the session planning and resourcing for the Pre-School, based on the assessments and informed by the observations undertaken by the Key Persons. In addition, I also co-ordinate the BLAST Programme, which is a fun six week programme that all children undertake with us which supports their skills in Listening, Attention, Speaking and Turn Taking.

    Izzy

I joined the Pre-School as a student volunteer in early 2018 as part of my studies towards a degree in Early Childhood Studies, going on to join as an employed member of the team in 2019, My role includes planning activities for our younger children within their small group sessions each day. As well as supporting the exciting music project within the Pre-School.
I support a small number of children as their Key Person, helping them to settle in and getting to know them and their families. As well as supporting their time at Pre-School, undertaking assessment and planning to meet their learning and interest needs.

    Kim

I have been working in Early Years for over years and joined the team at St Jude’s in 2015. I hold an NVQ Level 3 as well as lots of experience, including 16 years as a pre-school manager at another setting and prior to that, working in schools as a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant.
I support a small number of children as their Key Person, helping them to settle in and getting to know them and their families. As well as supporting their time at Pre-School, undertaking assessment and planning to meet their learning and interest needs.
I also lead the co-ordination of the Butterfly Group at Pre-School, supporting our oldest children developing key skills to support them ready for their transitions to school.

    Jayne

I joined the Pre-School in 2011 and gained Early Years Professional Status going on to lead the setting until 2019. I hold a Master’s degree in Education and am the setting Designated Safeguarding Person, as well as providing support to the setting Management team with professional advice and support with training. I also hold a role at Plymouth Marjon University where I undertake a lecturing role and co-ordinate the Degree in Childhood Practice.

    Tracy

I joined the Pre-School in 2018 having been delighted with the setting when my children had attended shortly before. I hold a Level 3 qualification in Early Years and have had experience in other settings prior to joining St Jude’s. I provide support for activities for our older children supporting them in preparing for their transition to school.
I support a small number of children as their Key Person, helping them to settle in and getting to know them and their families. As well as supporting their time at Pre-School, undertaking assessment and planning to meet their learning and interest needs.

    Zoe

I joined the Pre-School in 2013 as an apprentice and have since gained my Level 3 qualification in Early Years. I am currently studying for a foundation degree. Within Pre-School I undertake the lead role for co-ordinating the support of positive behaviour in the setting, which we do through specific plans to support children who may need to extra help and support to thrive at Pre-School.
I also co-ordinate the setting Nature School provision, this provides opportunities for children to experience a range of activities including, painting with mud, dissecting fish, building dens and making fires to toast marshmallows through a well planned programme of activities which support learning.
