Community Hub Cafe
Community happens when people come together
The St Jude’s Community Hub is a local initiative of various partners including the Church, local NHS Surgeries, the City Council and Councillors, the Police & Crime Commissioner, Transforming Plymouth Together and many others to bring connected support into local areas. The first part of that evolving group was this Hub Cafe with its free teas and coffees, that now has weekly walks, free wifi, laptops, free access to Ancestry online, friendly conversation, help accessing the City Council Portal… if we can help, we will
St Jude’s Community Hub Cafe is a place of welcome for anyone.
You will always find a free cup of coffee or tea, company, some good conversation or a listening ear.
It is open every Tuesday morning between 10am and 12noon in the Upper Hall of St Jude’s Church.
(The entrance is up the ramp by the bus stop on Beaumont Road outside the Church and Hall)
There are also regular walks every Tuesday, leaving the front of St Jude’s church at 10:30 to take a gentle walk around the local parks and return to the Community Hub for more conversation over a cuppa. This is all part of the Get Active initiative that invites people to join in walks taking place around the city at various times and places each week.
(The recent photograph gives a great impression of some of the folk the Community Hub is already connecting)
The Community Hub Cafe has been shortlisted for the Plymouth Herald ‘It’s Payback Time’ community fund. We need your help.
We need you to collect as many voting tokens as you can. The tokens are published in the Herald every day between now and Saturday 7th December 2019. The vote is from newspaper tokens only, there is NO online vote.
If you friends, family and colleagues who may be able to collect the tokens and can be dropped off the Hub, give them to a Hub goer or to the church office.
