Community Hub Cafe
WE HAVE SADLY HAD TO CLOSE THE COMMUNITY HUB CAFE FOR NOW DUE TO THE CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) OUTBREAK. WE ARE REALLY SORRY AND WILL GIVE OUT INFORMATION WHEN THE SITUATION CAN CHANGE.
St Jude’s Community Hub Cafe is a place of welcome for anyone.
You will always find a free cup of coffee or tea, company, some good conversation or a listening ear.
It is open every Tuesday morning between 10am and 12noon in the Upper Hall of St Jude’s Church.
(The entrance is up the ramp by the bus stop on Beaumont Road outside the Church and Hall)
There are also regular walks every Tuesday, leaving the front of St Jude’s church at 10:30 to take a gentle walk around the local parks and return to the Community Hub for more conversation over a cuppa. This is all part of the Get Active initiative that invites people to join in walks taking place around the city at various times and places each week.
The Hub is supported by The Co-operative Group Local Community Fund.
To find out more about how much has been raised so far visit our profile on The Co-op page here.
The St Jude’s Community Hub was awarded a grant of £500 by the Plymouth Police Commander on 18th December from the Proceeds of Crime as part of the ‘It’s Payback Time’ from Plymouth Herald. Thanks for all the help given to collecting votes from the Herald.
Community happens when people come together
The St Jude’s Community Hub is a local initiative of various partners including the Church, local NHS Surgeries, the City Council and Councillors, the Police & Crime Commissioner, Transforming Plymouth Together and many others to bring connected support into local areas. The first part of that evolving group was this Hub Cafe with its free teas and coffees, that now has weekly walks, free wifi, laptops, free access to Ancestry online, friendly conversation, help accessing the City Council Portal… if we can help, we will
