Jesus The Game Changer

STARTING END OF JANUARY 2019!

SUNDAYS AT 6.30pm FROM THE 27TH AND

TUESDAYS FROM 12:15pm FROM THE 29TH

SEE BELOW FOR DETAILS

The day after he died, he was just a man in a small backwater of a country at the far end of the Mediterranean in the mighty Roman Empire. There were so many others, Emperors, who should have left their mark on the world far more than Jesus, and yet…

…he did make a huge indelible mark on human history far beyond anyone else – and he continues to do so.

How did he do this?

(You may like to read a new Blog written specifically to accompany this introduction to this course – available here)

In this course we will find scholars explaining that so many of the positive values the World now aspires to and follows are built on and originate in his life and teaching. For instance, and to name a few: the equality of all, servant leadership, care for the poor and the marginalised, the dignity of women and children, humility, democracy and education originate because of Jesus’ influence.

Why was he able to be such an influence?

Through the 10 sessions of this series, we’ll have an opportunity to explore just what he has influenced that the World accepts without a pause as normal today – and how and why Jesus is the game changer that he became. As each of the 30 minute videos travel to the UK, USA, Singapore, India and Australia, we will see interviews with authors, academics and modern-day game changers about how the life and teaching of Jesus changed the world – and why it matters.

If these world views originate from Jesus, what is it that makes him so different to every other person who has ever lived?

St Jude’s are really pleased to host this NEW series and you can access it and explore for FREE in different ways:

1. The best way will be with a group of others to watch each of the ten videos together over time so you chat about what you’ve heard and explore it freely without criticism or question – and maybe make some great friends too. We have several options of places and times where you can gather with others in Plymouth starting in January 2019 – with free refreshments…

SUNDAY EVENINGS AT ST JUDE’S UPPER HALL, BEAUMONT ROAD FROM 27 JANUARY AT 6.30PM

From 6.00pm to 6.30pm we have our Sunday evening normal gathering with some sung worship and prayers. From 6.30pm we’ll have some fresh fair trade coffee, tea or hot chocolate and some muffins or similar before we start to show the video talks at 6.45pm. Each video is about 30 minutes long and we then have a chance to top up the drinks and snacks and just chat about what we’ve heard in a friendly environment. Feel free to join us at either 6.00pm or 6.30pm – you’ll be made very welcome.
